Meet Your Admission Counselor

Emily, also warmly known by the campus community and beyond as EKG, earned a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations from Lynchburg College. Before joining Hampden-Sydney in 2021, she spent five years working in admissions at Longwood University. As Senior Associate Dean of Admission, she works primarily with students and families from the Richmond area.

Born and raised locally, Emily loves sharing everything that makes Farmville’s two-college community special. She is also involved with a local nonprofit focused on economic development and community events. Outside of work, Emily loves traveling and spending time with her dogs, Harvey and Gus, who are frequent visitors to the Admission Office!
