    Wilson Center for Leadership Series: Pros and Cons of our Electoral College with Dr. Ron Heinemann and Dr. David Marion

    The Wilson Center for Leadership, established in 1996 and named for the College's former president Lt. Gen. Samuel V. Wilson (U.S. Army, Ret.), provides students with the opportunity to explore, practice, and hone their leadership skills so that they may become tomorrow's CEOs, business founders, military officers, and civic and political leaders. With direction from current and former leaders, students gain an understanding of the challenges confronting the United States and the world today through lectures, forums, symposia, and excursions.

    Dr. Marion has taught at Hampden-Sydney College for 42 years.  He is a scholar of constitutional law and public administration. Dr. David E. Marion is a member of the Academic Advisory Board at the Bill of Rights Institute in Arlington and served as a consultant for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Dr. Marion founded the Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest, originally named the James Madison Center for Leadership in the Public Interest.  

    Dr. Heinemann is the Squires Professor of History at Hampden-Sydney College. He is the author of Depression and the New Deal in Virginia and a coeditor of The Governors of Virginia.
